Traveling with Fondant Covered Cakes

Simple question...I was wondering how people out there transport their fondant covered cakes to avoid cracking. The other day I delivered a baby shower cake that was stacked with 2 tiers and the botter tier fondant cracked on the side. I had plenty of decorations to cover up the spot, but is there something that you all use to help "cushion" these cakes against bumps and road issues?

I place my cake box on top of at least 3 inches of memory foam in the back of my car. It completely dampens the vibrations--just like it does in the mattress commercials icon_lol.gif

Chilled cakes are far less likely to settle or crack with the jostling that comes from a car ride. Also make sure your support system is implemented right so that each tier it only having to support it's own weight.
