Decorating By Brandyf817 Updated 1 Sep 2012 , 4:07pm by DeniseNH
I shoud have taken a picture, I should have had it done yesterday just in case. This isn't the first time a cake has done this on me I have another one in the oven now.
What went wrong? I was putting frosting on it and the frosting weighed down the sides and made them fall off :'( and the top layer cracked too!
Also this is supposed to have a cream cheese filling. I was using Henry and Henry....I do not have any more. The cake store is to far away to get to in the AM and make it back. How do I make cream cheese/cheese cake filling. OMG I am at a panic. Cake is in the oven and I can't do anything till it is out and cool. How am I going to pull this off :{
Hi, am sorry this has happened to you. I am sending a link(a paula deen choc. cake recipe with cheese cake filling) First of all, i would wrap my layers tight after they cool(after turning out of cake pan) and freeze for at least 30-45 min.) before i frost them. I never frost a cake that has only cooled from the oven. I think it has more tendency to crack and break at corners, etc. Hope you have better luck this time. I hate having to bake over, etc. ha!

thank you for that advice. That hs to be my issue. I baked years ago and used to do this. For some reason I stopped and started having problems. Never put two and two together. I was starting to loose hope and that maybe I should just stick to cupcakes The cakes are almost cooled. Gonna wrap them and freeze them while I work on the rest of the order. Thanks again for the advice.
A great quick cream cheese tasting recipe for your filling is to stock up on Cheese Cake Instand jello pudding and mix it with heavy cream. DELICIOUS!!!!
