Hey all the talented people there....i am very new to cake decorating and i recently got an order for an exactly the same cake in the picture and i don't have slightest of idea how to do such lettering and how to achieve this kind of look...plz help me ...any kind of clue will be highly appreciated...TIA
The letters look like the FMM Tappits Upper & Lower Case Script Alphabet Cutters.

I did a book similar to this, and what I did for the leathery look was start with a base color, looks like maybe a brown, lighter brown maybe. And I had a couple of conatiners of watered down wilton gel color, and basically randomly sponged/dab on the different colors. Maybe black, and a couple of shades of brown. I think that would give it a nice rustic leathery look for this one,
Just some friendly advice for the future.
When someone asks for "an order for an exactly the same cake in the picture" the 1st thing out of your mouth is to tell them I can make it similar but NOT exactly as it is.
Very few people can copy someone else's work *exactly*.
Now you are free to change the letters or color or whatever w/o the customer getting upset.

Very good advice, especially if you don't know how to achieve a certain look!
