I am making cupcakes and a cake for a family reunion on Saturday ( my own) - and think I'm decorating with lady bugs and butterflies. I really want to make it fruity! - I think I'll use the WASC, adding some lemon to the almond and vanilla with a white mix. Then maybe adding some fruit punch flavored Mio to the buttercream filling and frosting. ( Mio is that highly concentrated drink stuff they sell at Wal- Mart... that you just squirt in your drink. ) Does that sound like it would work? Do you think I should try adding it to the WASC too? Or just the frosting? Or, do you know a better way to get fruit punch flavor? ( I'm thinking like Hawaiian punch, red, and tangy!) Thanks for looking at my question! icon_smile.gif

Maybe try adding a packet of fruit punch koolaid to the buttercream? For the cake I would add a combo of jello/gelatin flavours - maybe 1-1 1/2 tsp of dry mix of each of the following flavours - cherry, strawberry, orange, and pineapple to the cake mix. Good luck! Sounds like it'll be an interesting flavour!

..... try adding a packet of fruit punch koolaid to the buttercream.......

A whole packet might be a bit heavy on the flavor. I'd use only about 1/2. You could split the packet between the cake batter & the icing icon_smile.gif
I've often used KoolAid in my cakes & icings icon_smile.gif

Well, I tried it... and it is sooo yummy! It reminds me of those sweet and tangy candies the kids are all eating now a days. I know it will be a hit with the kids. For the cake, I added a whole packet of fruit punch dry kool-aid mix, plus almost a whole teaspoon of the Mio fruit punch drink enhancer. For the frosting, I just used the Mio, and kept adding until I liked the flavor. I think I used about 2-3 teaspoons. Thanks for the advice guys. It tastes exactly like what I was hoping for! Punchaliscious! hehe
