My friend has asked me to make her wedding cake for 150 people. I am thinking 14" 10" 6" and 4" does that sound about right. I have never made anything that big.

As I remember you get 77 servings from a 14x4" round;
39 servings from a10x4" round and 10 from a 6x3" round.
So you are a little under the count.
You can change the sizes of the 'main' cake and add satelite cakes OR kitchen cakes to up the #s.

not sure what a 4" cake serves, I've never done anything smaller than a 6"

a 6, 8 12 and 14 = 170
8,9,10 and 12 = 150...not sure how that would look though...

here's the link to the "cakulator" that i use, it uses Wilton serving chart. http://shinymetalobjects.net/cake/calculator/cakulator.cgi?pan=Round%2C+8%22&pan=Round%2C+10%22&pan=Round%2C+14%22&option=2&option=Select+Cakulator&chart=wiltonWedding2Inch&chart=Select+Chart&calculate=Calculate%21&.cgifields=pan
