I was asked to do a 4 tier wedding cake and it's my first wedding cake, up until now, I have only done cupcake weddings. They requested the entire cake be pound cake. I was going to use the plate and pillar stacking method I saw on here but I am wondering if it's a good idea to do ALL pound cake. Do you think it will be too heavy and collapse? Plus it's been hot as all he11 this summer and I'm afraid it will get too soft in transport.

I need advice. Can anyone tell me if I'm making a huge mistake wanted to do all pound cake?

HELP!!!

Your customer wants pound cake so it's probably a good idea if you provide pound cake. Use internal supports and it will be fine.

I have done a 4 tier all pound cake wedding cake many times. No problems with it. My pound cakes are dense and moist. Once you have a good support structure you will be fine. Check out posts on SPS.

as long as your support system is sound, then the type of cake itself shouldnt case any problem! x

This is the *perfect!* recipe for that request: http://cakecentral.com/recipe/the-original-wasc-cake-recipe

As the others have said, it's the support system that keeps the cake from collapsing - not the cake it's self.
