What is the best way to get the shape for a 3d barn? I am thinking that using a hexagon pan with help with the edges I need without having to sculpt. Any advice?

I would personally use a couple of square layers and then another layer cut on the diagonal to make the roof. It seems like it would be more stable than a hexagonal cake, and would not really require any sculpting, since we're talking about straight cuts.
