I was asked to recreate this cake and have no idea how to achieve the icing effect. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated icon_biggrin.gif

I'm having a hard time seeing exactly what the design is.

I too am having trouble seeing the exact design, however, it looks like the designer just took a spatula and swirled the icing in a vertical manner. I do that sometimes and it makes a really nice design.

It's called "homestyle"-iced using either a spatula or the back of a spoon.

That's easy! Just use a spatula, start at the bottom and swipe up. Then smooth the top. Make sure your tiers are at least 4" though. The ones in the picture look a little squat to me.
