Hi guys i have to make a pregnant belly cake similar to this to feed thirty but im not sure what type of bowl to use to make the belly and it has to feed 30 people.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!
it wont let me post the pic but does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the belly to feed 30 people?
When I make it, I use (2) 10in layers and an 8in carved to make a belly and the ball pan for breast.
if you still cant make it big enough put it on a sheet cake like some of these

Just the 10 inch two layer cake gives you 38 servings. If you add a carved 8 inch plus a couple of balls, you will be WAY over your 30 servings.
.........From what I can tell from some searching is that is serves 12........
Those are *huge* survings. Using a 10x4" round *plus* a carved 8"er will be *more* than enough for 30 nice sized servings.
I agree kakekadi. I think all the Wilton shaped pans use 1 cake mix and are said to make 12 servings. Yet one cake mix makes a one layer 9 by 13 which serves 25 according to the Wilton charts. I have always wondered about that inconsistency.

To me, a 9x13 needs 1 & 1/2 mixes But I know what you are getting at.
One mix cakes (shaped, 10x2" round; 8x2" sq etc) each serve 15 BUT make 24 cupcakes! Wouldn't you say one cupcake is an average sized serving of cake... So why the difference?
I think the shaped pans are at 12 figuring non-consistent cutting pieces given their odd shapes. And served at informal gatherings. And I know they are designed so they all take one box of cake mix. It is not consistent with the other pan servings though. One layer of 9 by 13 (using one box to keep things consistent) serves 25 and with that same one cake mix I do get 24 cupcakes so that part seems consistent.
