I've got the CakeBoss software which I am using to do basic pricing, but I haven't got everything entered into it (ie. materials like boards, dowels, etc). My question is in regards to fondant and gumpaste. Where do you put these items? Under Master Ingredient list or Master Materials? I buy my fondant in 20lb buckets, so I guess I could calculate a price based on 16oz. I'm just trying to find out how others manage the costing in of fondant and boards etc.

Thanks

I believe I put mine in under master ingredients, as a per pound cost. I calculate it out (including shipping) so that when I cover a cake in fondant I can put how many pounds I used. I use Earlene's fondant chart to estimate how much goes on each cake instead of weighing the cake before and after.

Thanks! I was having trouble figuring out how to get it into my price but that makes sense.

I put mine in master materials by the pound, then I just enter how many pounds I needed.
