I have a customer that is having a party with 100 RSVP's. She is wanting to have iced sugar cookies and cupcakes, but doesn't know how many of each she wants knowing not everyone will eat a cookie and/or cupcake, some might take multiple cupcakes or cookies but not of the other. What would you suggest a good number combo for each would be? I was thinking 75 cupcakes and 50 cookies, so if she had people that took both and multiple she would be covered.
Good question. You never know what people will take. Cookies are "easy" to eat, no mess. I feel cookies will be taken more. Work up your prices for each, and have your customer decide. They're her guests!
About 70% will eat the dessert. If you offer two, many will take two.
I give these numbers to the client. Most of the time, especially with a variety, you are better off going with the guest count and having some leftovers. On a single dessert, you can have slightly less, but so far, I have never had someone order less than the guest count.
Plus with a cookie, it could be taken home by a guest, so maybe even more than the guest count for cookies.
I also think you need a lot more cookies. If I go to a party and there are cookies and cupcakes, I eat a cupcake there and take a cookie or two home.
