hi i'm just doing a basic 2 tier 10 and 8 inch buttercream birthday cake with very basic designs on it i was wondering if in general yall think that $60 is too much to charge?

Nope, you're good. I bet most would say it's not enough depending on your location, design and overhead.

Base price for me is $196, doesn't include delivery and I live in mid income area.

That would be a $248 cake for me. I am in the northern suburbs of Atlanta. I am not sure $60 would cover costs.

Check out the decorators in your area (NOT the megamarts or supermarkets) and see what they are charging. Make sure that a certain percentage of the cake price includes things like electricity, water, paper towels, dish soap, foil, etc. Many decorators forget the little things at first. Those things really add up.

And don't forget to include enough to pay yourself!

That would be 300 for me, and an hour and a half's round trip delivery would most definitely NOT be included.

We would charge $90 for delivery alone.

Oh ouch! Yes, more than that would be right. I'd have the $90 delivery charge for that, too. Oh well, this will be your learning experience, everyone has one.

Before I was licensed and legal and knew I had to be, I would've charged about $90, but now it would be closer to $150. And delivery would be $67.50 extra.
