New to the forums,

Basically I am getting really frustrated!
I had a cake business (in the UK) for a few months and I had found 1 or 2 recipes that worked for me. They weren't very cost-effective, my chocolate cake recipe was a doctored mix and the ingredients were pretty pricey and couldn't be bought in bulk.

I hardly ever use the same recipe more than once, my chocolate doctored mix and my 1234 vanilla cake (along with a few others) are pretty much the only ones I've used more than once.

So, I'm working as a decorator at a Bakery at the moment but only temporarily and I'm now wanting to start my own business up again to carry it on after I've finished working.

Decorating-wise I'm sorted. Baking wise, I'm not.

I'm looking for a good trusty chocolate cake, a mud cake or something fudgy. And a nice vanilla pound cake.

They need to be dense enough for carving, and stacking etc.
Suitable for birthday AND wedding cakes
Easy to make in larger quantities
Have a nice rise
and taste really nice.

I need to find recipes that I can use for every order and that I can trust will turn out well every time.

Any help will be appreciated!!!
