I would like to make a bobble head cat cake for my daughter's 4th birthday later this month. I've seen a few here on CC and on You Tube that look similar to what I'd like to try making but can't figure out a good way to make the head bobble/attach/float the had above the body.

I've sent PMs to the ones I've seen here and have heard back from the wonderful ladies that made them but they all seem to be stationary except one and I can't figure out that one yet ;( waiting to hear back a bit more on that one from kmay55

Wondering if anyone has any ideas?

But if the body dowel goes into the pipe in the had how/why does it bobble?

The video for this one is a collection of still pictures so not sure it actually bobbles vs just rests on top considering a flower pot would have a flat bottom and rest on top of the flat end of a dowel? and ifI make the head out of cake how to i stop the pot from going into the cake (ie the weight of the cake not pushing down and around the pot? the pot needs to somehow be attached to the board the cake is on???

I understand the principle and even tried a mini version using a rounded dowel and then placed a cup on top but it tended to lean to one side vs staying straight and yes moved but not really bobble?

Any ideas? Suggestions??
