Hello all, I am making a cake for a kids birthday party this month, and was given the ok to make whatever flavor combo I want. This is great since I am still new at this and love to experiment with different flavors, but on the otherhand, there are so many choices I am having trouble deciding. I am looking for suggestions on cake and filling flavors for kids cakes? Thank you so much!!

I usually get asked to make either chocolate, vanilla, or white for kids cakes. The occasional strawberry. You can get creative with the fillings, ex oreo. What about a "barrel" full of candy? A round cake surrounded by kitkats or twixts(your barrel)and filled on top with m&m's or another favorite candy...malted milk balls, gummie bears or worms etc.

Based on my experience, parents don't like to go too creative with kids cakes flavors. The ones they order are vanilla/vanilla, vanilla/strawberry, chocolate/chocolate, and strawberry/vanilla. That's it! Don't go too crazy, kids tend to be picky, so parents go with whatever will please the party goers and not necessary the birthday boy/girl.

I've found that a really kid friendly cake is and orange cake with vanilla buttercream.
