clear stiletto shoe

Is there a way to make the shoe appear clear. The stiletto is "barbie doll style". I was thinking black fondant for the sole of the shoe but is there a way to make the 5" heel and/or piece over the toes clear? I've worked with isomalt to make beer bottles, but I think it would be too brittle for a shoe...and I don't want to purchase a mold of some sort just to make this one time stiletto shoe.

Any ideas???? I so love your help!!!

Try using gelatin. Tami has some great tutorials on that. http://cakecentral.com/gallery/2120961/gelatin-slippers-for-cinderella-pillow-cake

Definitely gelatin. There is so much you can do with it. It dries like plastic. I made fairy wings out of it by just pouring it over a stamp. It's awesome stuff.

If I am ever on life support, unplug me...

Then plug me back in.  See if that works!

Thank you both for your help. I had no idea gelatin would harden!
