Hi everyone! I've never used fondant but would like to practice with it this weekend as I have a bday cake I'll be using it for in a couple weekends. Any particular tools you'd recommend over others? Thanks everyone! icon_lol.gif

I guess it depends on what you will be making with it. Figurines, flowers, or imprinting designs onto it, then you will need different types of tools.

So if you can give more details into what kind of cake you will be making, we can suggest what kind of tools you will need icon_smile.gif

You need a smooth-surface rolling pin, a wheel cutter, a pastry brush, and a pair of kitchen scissors. Other than that, it really depends on what you'll be making.

Well, I was pretty much given free reign to decorate a cake for my goddaughters bday. Rapunzel (disney's Tangled) theme. I'd like to keep it simple with maybe some small flowers here and there, perhaps incorporate a yellow fondant braid. It will be a small 2 tier cake. And I'm still also going back & forth on whether or not to cover the cakes in fondant. Any ideas and/or tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
