so i am making these royal icing flowers... well she told me the dresses are burgundy, so i bought burgundy coloring gel... well, i am having a hard time getting the ri anything but a pink. she gave me some extra flowers of the color she wants... to me its more like a really deep dark red, but not quite as brown as maroon... idk how to get this color!!! i dont have any powder color. however after reading thru more posts I do believe I just might need to get some icon_wink.gif any tips are greatly appreciated (even if i dont spell too well) icon_biggrin.gif

Chefmaster true red gives a great red, that you can combine with a bit of black to get a burgundy.

i live in NY. about 90 miles north of NYC. most of the stuff I get comes from micheals. I have been using wilton color gel.

Yeah, they tend to give bad flavor with darker colors. If you can't get anything else you can try
the wilton no taste red, but the pigments of chefmaster and americolor are best for darker colors
