I was wondering if I could get some ideas from all the wonderful decorators on CC. I have been asked (VERY LAST MINUTE) to do a 4' faux cake for a gala event.
The gala is for a hospic and they have asked for something fun and big. They want more of the WOW factor .

I am free to go crazy but I must have butterflies in the cake (their logo) a very "childish" butterfly. I have never really worked in interal supports so that is out of the question. Unless there is a tutoral that I can't find.

Any ideas would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah...I have to have it by Feb 11th....not to last minute humm????

Hi! Just wondering what you mean when you say "internal supports"? Maybe the wow factor could be to make the butterflies flutter around the cake...or maybe use those metal wires to hang a gumpaste butterfly of one end?

icon_razz.gif make colorful gelatin butterflies. color cloth floral wire with food coloring or dilute gel and twist it around a pencil ,when dry attach the butterfly body the spiral floral wire as if butterfly is flying around the cake. Make your cake with a few flowers on it or a garden theme.
