I had never heard of such a thing until I was asked for one yesterday. Apparently they had had one elsewhere, and it was a heavy cake that tasted like vanilla but wasn't very sweet.

I googled sour dough cake, but most of the recipes I came up with seem to be more of a sweet bun than a cake that could be decorated.

I asked if they meant a sour cream cake, but no, definitely sour dough.

Any ideas of what they might have meant?
