Hi
I dont know of a tutorial but, Sweet Things says that she uses the Wilton Sports Ball pan. You would make the 2 halves and then glue then together with icing, then ice smooth and cover with fondant. roll the fondant out maybe 2 - 4" wider than the dimension of the ball and begin to smooth down the sides all around until completely covered, your fondant will end UNDERNEATH the ball bottom and then you can decorate as you like.

Thanks Msthang. I have the wilton mini ball pan, and I was hoping to have a video tutorial to rely on while I attempted making these. They are my new obsession.

You can also look here, she carves her cake but you could use the pan to save time.
Thanks everyone for sending me the great links. I hope to try making some of these this weekend. Wish me luck.
