Would it look bad if I baked the cupcakes in the pan and put them in the baking cups AFTER baking? My chocolate cupcakes have oil in them and grease the cups. It looks terrible. I am making cupcakes for my friends wedding and I want them to be perfect.
Any suggestions or an answer to the above??
Thanks!!
The cup wont hug the cupcake. My strawberry cupcakes have oil and I just put cupcake wrappers around them. I saw a beautiful photo the other day on Flickr where a lady used wide ribbon to wrap around the cupcake paper. It looked vey nice.
Good Luck
Thanks! The bride is VERY specific about what she wants. I may have to tweek my recipe a bit or try it out with the cups I bought to see how they fare.
Thanks!!
What about using cupcake wrappers after they are baked?
like these: http://www.flourconfections.ca/shop/cupcake-wrappers-c-267.html
I would use glassine cupcake papers. No oil will show through these papers. You can get them in white, brown, white & gold. Not sure what color you need, but I'll help you look them up if you need it.
First of all - I love this website b/c everyone is so friendly and helpful!!!! Thank you for your responses.
Second - I am dealing with bridezilla! Well, she's not that bad. She's just very particular about what she wants. I showed her the cupcake wrappers in beautiful styles and she thought they were too "Sweet Sixteen" looking. Also, the cups must be purple - light and dark. I found some and I'm giong to try them out this weekend to see how they fare. Maybe they will not show the oil. I may tweek my recipe a bit to use butter instead of oil. I know butter is still oily, but far less so than actual oil.
Thanks again!!
Here are deep purple glassine cupcake papers: http://shop.beyondpotsandpans.com/browse.cfm/deep-purple-glassine-cupcake-cups/4,283.html and here: http://layercakeshop.com/index.php/Shop/Shop-by-Theme/Birthday/Grape-Purple-Glassine-Baking-Cups.html Global sugar arts has them too: http://www.globalsugarart.com/product.php?id=25447&name=Purple+Glassine+Cupcake+Liners+(pkg/50)
Here, they have two different shades, but you also have to take the other colors as well, it's a mixed set, 30 of each color: http://layercakeshop.com/index.php/Shop/Baking/Solid-Glassine-Baking-Cup-Stack.html
I also found purple foil, but I have a feeling she wouldn't like that. The mixed sets seem to be the best for getting the lighter shade. Or, possibly, if you put a white glassine cup into a lighter purple prior to baking, maybe they would come out together? Or somehow attache them to each other?
Thank you again! That purple is one I think she will like. I'll run it past her if my other cups don't work.
THANKS!!
Wilton has those nice cupcake liners that are like flower cups. I usually use them to put the cupcake in after they are baked. The cc fits in very nicely. You can also sit the cc on a paper towel to allow some of the oil to soak out then place them in these cups. I hope to find a link to show you. I will edit and post if I do.
