This cake is going to be the DEATH of me! I have already re-baked the entire 1st tier of this cake and then I totally forgot about the last layer in the oven (3 kids, dinner time. . not a good mix!!!!) The inside of the cake is just fine. . but the edges are so crisp.

I would normally just chop them off, but I can't because of the size the cake needs to be. . .I have 2 other layers it has to sit with and I can't cut them all down.

Is there any way to bring some life back to the edges or do I just have to stick it in there and pray noone cares about the crunchy corners?!!?!

I'd still try to cut it down, don't leave the crusty edges on it. You could cut a little of it off and put a simple syrup on it to try to soften it up, but it will still be tougher than the rest of it. sorry icon_sad.gif
