Hi Nadya, I recently bought the circuit cake and although I have not used it yet, wanted to know the same thing, I contacted circuit machine . Com and was told that you could use all the cartridges except the IMAGINE range of cartridges. I hope that this is correct as I cannot actually verify this until I get round to using my machine. HTH.

You can use different ones yes. As long as it is Cricut it will work on ANY of the cricut machines.
I have a few different ones that I have used in the past. Mostly just for the font tho.

Remember too that Cricuit has a new thing where you can get images online to cut as well and not have to buy cartridges.

When I contacted Cricut machine.com and asked if I could get images online, they replied that the cricut cake could only use the cartridges - do you have any further information on this, as it would be really helpful. Thanks.

Hmm. I had thought that it would be possible. I wonder if the online images don't work with a regular Cricuit either, only the imagine. I haven't researched that enough yet.
