I am not working on any cakes tonight but I am figuring out what I am going to bake tomorrow for some Christmas treats that I am giving for gifts for my neighbors! I know that I am making some cake pops, peppermint brownies, toffee and I don't know what else yet. Anyone have any suggestions????

Busy week for me. Four birthday cakes, two big ones, two little ones. Better get back to work on the one that's due tomorrow. The rest are due Sunday. It'll be a miracle if I get any sleep between now and Christmas. I love that business is picking up for me, but I need to get much better at managing my time. Have a good weekend!

Hi,
Just a hobby baker. Working on choc pinecones, pointsettia, and baking for a 3 tier Ann cake for the 27th.
Hate not allowing for enough time and of course right at Christmas time.

Ain't no such thing as "just a hobby baker," especially with tiered cakes. lol
I have 3 gingerbread houses assembled and ready to decorate tomorrow. Spent tonight wrangling my great niece and nephew.

Peppermint brownies sound delish! Care to share the recipe? Pretty please?

FNCC is Friday Night Cake Club and everyone is welcome to join in! It's a weekly thread where we discuss what we're working on, ask questions, and get help. As many people are working on cake Friday nights for delivery the next day, this thread gets you fast help when you're in the trenches and the deadline is approaching.

Evening,

3-D Ewok cake. Still have some detail stuff to do tomorrow but it's mostly done and is pretty cute if I do say so myself.

2 dozen cupcakes with sock monkey fondant toppers. Cake is done, toppers are done, buttercream is made, I'll just need to roll into the bakery tomorrow, assemble and deliver.

I am behind schedule, I needed to bake a 10" square and a 6" heart cake today but didn't get to it for a cake due Monday. This is going to be one of those cakes I won't be taking pictures of because I think it's gonna be ugly - but it's what the client wants. Sigh.

I burned 1/2 my day making a 9" and 6" tiered cake that was supposed to be for tomorrow but lady called and cancelled.

I think that's it. I hope. icon_smile.gif

Nite!

I am just adding some peppermint andes that I found at Walmart in the baking section to the batter and a sprinkling a few on top. Easy Peasy !!! It's a family project so I have to keep it simple!!!

Hi guys! Just an idea here. I don't have a snowflake cutter but I found one of my daughters old punch die paper cutter and just on a hunch tried some very thin gumpaste with it, and it cut out the cutest little snowflakes!

Marzipanned 6 xmas cakes last night. Having surgery on hand on Tues, only got appointment on Thurs, so have to get all my caking done before then. Made my 1st minnie mouse cake this morning & it came out cute. Still have to marzipan 2 cakes, ice all 8 and make a horse head!
