How To Make Antique Pink Fondant
Decorating By Gemmalicious Updated 5 Dec 2011 , 2:57pm by AZCouture
hello everyone,
I've been asked to make my friends wedding cake and she wants antique pink. PLEASE can someone let me know the colours i should be using as its driving me crazy!!!
Thank you
Start with ivory fondant then add either soft pink or deep pink, depending on which shade you want. Good luck!
When someone says antique to me, it means the color is faded out in areas, and maybe has some "rubbed" areas, of a darker color. If that's what you mean, color your fondant like suggested above, and lightly rub some gold or silver highlighter powder with your finger on areas like edges, areas that would in real life (if it were a real object) would have rubbed on something. Not luster dust mind you, but actual highlighting powder. A little black too. That's what antiquing means to me. Check out Cake Opera or Caketress for more of what I mean.
