Happy Tthanksgiving, may you and your family be blessed. I have celiac disease so my family had to adapt the menu, mourning the loss of the stuffing, lol, still plan to enjoy!

Margiep, my sister has celiac so I make a lot that's GF. Our family stuffing is a rice based one so no modification was necessary! And I use GF unsalted pretzels ground up in place of breadcrumbs for my sister's version of stuffed mushrooms, rice balls, etc. Not the same I know, but still yum! And I have some great GF choco cookies if you need recipes!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! I am not cooking this year. WOO HOO! Though I am concerend about my turkey eating. We are going to my cousin-in-law's house, where my BIL, who can cook, will fry a turkey. Unfortunately, last time he fried a turkey it was DRY!!!! I didn't think that was possible. icon_biggrin.gif So, wish me luck that he does not over fry it this year! icon_wink.gif Nothing beats a brined turkey by the way...

Good luck with the fried turkey! Sounds interesting but I am a brining fan too! Just set it up, though somehow I am out of whole peppercorns? How does that happen...it's not my usual midnight snack! Checked all my other ingredients ahead of time but never even looked at the peppercorn inventory. Oh well will add later after trip 9999 to the store for other last minute fresh vegetables!

We do that to, I put a 25lb stuffed in the oven, And we fry a 16 lb, The fried one We don`t make until we are about ready to eat. Cuz it dose tend to dry out quicker, Enjoy

We're having a very quiet Thanksgiving this year - - DH is on call so no travelling.

I'm so thankful for everyone here and all the help and advice I've received. I hope you all have a safe and very happy time with family and friends and may God bless you! icon_smile.gif

I've done that before as well. I think it's cause we only use whole peppercorns on occassion, we assume we could never run out. icon_razz.gif

Oh I am stuffed everyone! How about you? And working. Posted my turkey cake. When I get home later, I plan on making "sandwiches" from the leftover turkey! While simultaneously continuing to eat!

Too cute-the cake, still dead tired from hours of cooking, I did a rice stuffing and small rice balls-asian style, for my gluten free dishes- very good---my tiny cupcakes with turkey on top were a bigger hit then the turkey table cake. Margiep

Margie no wonder you're tired! You really did a lot! And shopping too- mommynana, I only on-line shopped! After work today, some more cleaning, but feel like I've been run over by a steamroller! But all went well, too much food and plenty of leftovers! And a friend wants a cake for Sunday! Ooh, I'll think about that more tomorrow!
