Hi,
I am ask to do a rainbow princess cake for a 4yr old little girl. They don't care what I do.. how big or anything. It is only for 12 people but they would like larger because the birthday is on thanksgiving day and they can use it for desert.
Now my problem.. I have the wilton castle kit but I really don't want to use it.. I have before but I want the cake to be completely edible.
What can I use for the round tourets? (sp) .. I know the top is normally the ice cream cones. I can use something that isn't edible but I just need ideas on what to use...
There are so many great castles on this website... if anyone can tell me what the best way to go would be and what they use? Thanks for the help...
The castle in my photos was large and what I did for turrets was to melt coating chocolate, spread it on bubble wrap and place on the insides of flower formers to form each 1/2 of a turret. After the chocolate set, I painted more white chocolate inside to give strength. I warmed the top of my S.S. table (you could use the back of a cookie sheet) with a torch. I placed the flat sides down on the warm table to make even and smooth. Then just use more melted chocolate to paint the seams and press together to seal the turrets. These can be done big or small and can be done ahead of time.
I used rice krispy treats for mine. I just rolled them into log shapes, covered them with candy melts to get them nice and smooth and then covered them with fondant.
I have one that i done in my pics have alook to see if its what your looking for and I can send you info.
