I'm making a Fairy Garden cake for a 3 year old's little girl this weekend. In addition to the cake, I'm making Magic Fairy wands (see picture attached) for the girls to take home. I've just found out there are several little boys coming as well.... they will NOT like these, because they are super girly....I thought about making some cakepops for the boys...but any ideas on how to incorporate the fairy garden theme and still keep them masculine enough for a boy?? HELP!![/img]

Since it's a fairy garden, maybe other things that you'd find in the garden would be good for the boys. Frogs or toadstools would work if you're doing cake pops. Little frog (frog prince?) heads for the pops or maybe shaping the cake pops into little mushrooms (think 'fairy ring') and then use fondant or something to give them the quintessential red top with white spots. Not sure if those ideas would be too much work since these are just for the favours but maybe the frog or toadstool idea could be incorporated another way? Good luck!

Welcome to the forum, AmyPotter! This site has been having problems with photos being attached to posts for a while, so you don't have a picture of your wands.

For ideas, you might go with inspiration from the kid's movie, Ferngully. Here's a link with some photos: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104254/mediaindex

Here's another photo of a boy or dad fairy:

You could still do wands for the boys, but put on cartoon garden bugs or ladybugs. You could also do wands like the girls, but in colors of green/brown or with twined leaves instead of ribbons. Little 3-4 year boys like to have wands too!

My daughter had a fairy theme for her 7th birthday, and all of the boys wanted to wear the fairy wings and take home bottles of pixie dust (glitter in a cool little bottle) just like the girls.
