Anyone have a cute idea for a cake for a woman's 72nd birthday...she was a runway model when she was younger and still full of life. I was thinking of a runway scene on top and a saying like "After 72 years, you're still gracing life's runway". I need some more cute ideas to bat around...

Thanks

Very good idea!

What about doing fabric effects on the cake for kind of a fashion theme. I've never done anything like that, but I've seen cute cakes with embossing (on fondant) and other decorations to make the icing look fabric-like.

I'm interested to see how you'll make the runway! Good luck.

Try going to this website
http://www.fiftiesweb.com/fashion/fashion-we.htm
and checkout the elegant fashions of the 50s. (I'm guessing she modeled around age 19 or higher here which would be around 1952) Maybe you could incorporate one of the fashions with your model runway.

I love the "saying" you have for your cake. Very nice. thumbs_up.gif
