Hello all I've been seeing all of the gorgeous "petal effect" cakes that people have been posting and was wondering-has anyone ever tried stacking one of these cakes? I would really like to try this and was thinking maybe three or four tiers. I just wasn't sure if the effect continues to look nice or if it becomes too busy or something when you have so much of it on one cake. I havent found a picture of what I'm thinking of, so if anyone has one or any advice, I'd really appreciate it. Have a good day!
I haven't uploaded the pics yet but i made 2 yesterday, one was a 2 tier and one was a 1 tier square, and I think I prefer the one tier look. The 2 tier looks nice but I think it started to look a bit "poofy" I don't think I would go more then 2 tiers with it. But I think if you did a 3 or 4 tier you could stagger the petal effect tiers do one plain in between I think that would look pretty. I'll try and upload the pics later today.
Also I think the size of the tiers could be better I did an 8 and 6 rounds I think a 9inch would have been better on the bottom to give a bit more separation between tiers

I think it looks lovely.
Thank you both for your responses!
Dutchy--Thanks for the suggestion of staggering the petal effect layers! I think that is what I may try.
rlowry-Thank you for the photo! That is a beautiful example of a smaller version of what I was thinking of.
Boy did I miss the boat on that -- I thought you were talking about a cake like this: http://cakecentral.com/gallery/1595701
