im making a giant cupcake for the first time. im unsure of what to use for the icing i want the typical cupcake look. i tried using butter icing and a piping back didnt look how i wanted it to. im unsure if its my icing or the piping back i want to use the star shape nozzle and curl it up to the top its just not working should i use normal icing? please help its for a little girls birthday icon_sad.gif

I used a trick I found here on CC, and here's the link:

After I made the shell, I just took a 6" layer that I had in the freezer and trimmed it to fit into the shell, and another for the domed top. Here's how my finished cake looked:

I used the 1M tip to make the giant rosettes on the top.
