I need a new mixer. I am contemplating on the 6 qt kitchaid or saving and spending the extra money for the 7qt. Please give me some advice.
Thanks,
Molly

I say if you're going to get it - better just spend the extra money and get the best one you can buy icon_smile.gif Save and get the 7qt (is that a huge price difference?)

I haven't seen the specs yet on the new 7qt..what is the difference? If it is simply a 1 quart larger bowl then, save yourself $150! LOL

Just don't get the Artisan. Not worth it. I would get the 7 quart. The more capacity, the better. I have an Artisan, Heavy Duty, and the Pro610. The 7 is on the list. As a small batch baker, multiple mixers are best for me.

If you purchase from Williams-Sonoma, they have a lifetime warranty.

I have an Artisian kitchenaid mixer for small batch recipes. I have a 12qt. Hobart mixer for larger jobs. Well worth the investment to have more than one mixer and multiple bowls and attachments for each one.

I actually opted to go for two smaller kitchenaids rather than a large one because I LOVE the tilt-head feature. It's probably not worth it if you're baking large scale but the tilt head has always worked for me icon_smile.gif

I'd say get a Cuisinart.

I'd be happy with ANY decent mixer.

Leah, why do you suggest the Cuisinart?

I love my cuisinart! It's smaller than a kitchen aid and easily fits under my low cabinets. I love love love the timer feature as well.

Kohl's just recently had the 6qt Pro on sale under $400, a $50 manufacturers rebate AND Kohl's Bucks for a future visit! Even though I wasn't able to afford it at the time of sale, my boss knew the Pro was on my wish list and bought it for me, saying "Merry Christmas Early!" Best surprise EVER on a Saturday morning! icon_biggrin.gif

I just recently got a Cuisinart and I LOVE it! I have 3 mixers right now which comes in handy, but if I had to pick a favorite it would be my Cuisinart by far!!!!!!!!!!!!!
