Hi everyone! Well I FINALLY got my new logo....I love it. It's elegant and fancy and stands out (I think anway). LOL

Anyway, I re-did my website to go along with the new logo and I would love opinions. It is a Flash site. I know some people do not like this, but for now it's what works for me.

Let me know what you think!

Oh .. and feel free to be the first to sign my guestbook! LOL

I love your logo, very elegant! And your site is just beautiful! I was surprised about your prices, I thought they'd be higher, your site is so classy looking!

Nice logo!

A few comments from a professional web designer:

- Lose the "splash" page, show people your home page with some useful content on it first
- Consider switching to a non-Flash format, since Flash is not viewable on iPads or iPhones, and is not indexable by search engines
- Include more info directly on your home page: where you are located, contact info if people feel more comfortable calling, your mission statement (something less generic than what you have now)
- Remove cakes with copyrighted characters from your gallery (unless you got permission)
- Consider a photo gallery that lets you see multiple pictures at once
- Reconsider the Guestbook feature, does it add any value, and do you really want anyone to be able to post directly to your business's web site? An associated Facebook page might work better
- Take another look at your pricing and make sure you are including labor costs

Your logo is beautiful-really elegant. You do beautiful work but I think that your photos don't do your cakes justice. My only suggestion is to be mindful of where you take the picture of your cake. Try not to take pictures of the cake in it's box or have distractions in the background such as chairs. There are a few threads in CC about how to improve your pictures such as a DIY light box, how to make a backdrop, etc. There are simple things that you can do to make your pictures enhance your website. I enjoyed looking at your website.

Your logo is nice! And your setup is elegant!

I agree with losing the "enter" and "guestbook" pages.

Also, there is a feeling of too much negative space. It may just be me though. I would enlarge the text and pics, but just slightly.

Thank you for all the compliments! I will look at all the suggestions! I totally agree about the pictures. Most of those were taken before a business ever existed so I wasn't taking that into consideration. My latest cakes I have been at least trying to make sure thete isn't anything in the background until I figure out how to set up a backdrop etc. I just did a promo shoot with a photographer for some smash cakes so I can't waot to upload those when she is done editing!

I think the logo is beautiful.
This is probably going to sound critical...but, I promise I'm just playing devils advocate ~ I would change the front page to say something more about your passion for cakes (the positive stuff) instead of a bad experience you had. To me, it sounds negative. I don't know if that is the best impression you can give your future clients. To a bride it might sound like you had issues with another vendor. That maybe you are less than accomodating or hard to deal with. I know it's probably not a fair description...but, it is a first impression. Eventhough your baker isn't named, it sounds like a slam against them. If they are your competition now, I would be careful to not offend them too. If I were the baker that did you wrong...I wouldn't ever refer anyone to you if I couldn't take an order after reading that on your page. Not to mention that it would sting everytime I saw it or your name. They probably want to forget it as much as you icon_wink.gif

Just my opinion. The site itself is very pretty. And the logo A+.

Your logo is very nice, but it looks blurry on my screen.

I was going to say the same thing.

I LOVE the logo... really, really classy. But it's ever so slightly 'soft' on my screen. Not really blurry, but definitely looks slightly out of focus.

Wishing your business every success!

Oh, and just to be pedantic, there's a spacing error on your flavor's page - need another space between the vanilla and choc cakes! icon_wink.gificon_biggrin.gif
