How Far In Advance Would You Make These Toppers?

I have a wedding coming up and the bride wants 150 cupcakes with these to top them.

I would like to not wait. Knowing me, waiting would cause me to rush and then they would look like, well... They are fondant/gumpaste discs, and I will pipe the design with royal icing. I am exactly 2 weeks out and would like to start today, but not sure if it is too soon.

As for storage, I plan on just stacking them in a box on half-sheet size cake boards with spacers in between so they do not touch. Should I worry about it being air tight?

Thanks!

The main issue with starting to far in advance will be taste.... they will be yucky by the time you put them on.

If you don't plan on people eating them then go for it..... the will get hard though and won't cup the top of the cuppie.

I would start the week of, if it was me. I would also suggest using royal icing instead of buttercream because it will be easier to store them once it has dried! Then you won't have to worry about squishing the buttercream when you store them.
