I need to make some fondant flowers next week. I don't have a foam pad and wanted to know what I can use for substitution. I've tried a kitchen sponge wrapped in Saran wrap but it didn't work. The sponge was too firm. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.

I was also wondering what could be used for this. There was a thread on unusal items used for decorating that was popular last week...maybe someone mentioned something there? I'll have to go look.

Try a product called fun foam. That works well. they sell it at craft stores.

The little foam pads that Wilton makes are about three dollars for the package. It's not a bad investment, they last for years icon_biggrin.gif and you know that they're food safe.

I was wondering the same thing, glad I looked at this. Fun foam, going to look for some!

I just found the thread on "unusual items"...can't wait to go look through it!

The kneeling pads used in gardening work well too.

I use the foamboard that you get at craft stores.
