I need to make some fondant flowers next week. I don't have a foam pad and wanted to know what I can use for substitution. I've tried a kitchen sponge wrapped in Saran wrap but it didn't work. The sponge was too firm. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.

Try a product called fun foam. That works well. they sell it at craft stores.

The little foam pads that Wilton makes are about three dollars for the package. It's not a bad investment, they last for years and you know that they're food safe.

The kneeling pads used in gardening work well too.

I use the foamboard that you get at craft stores.
