I am quite new at this all idea of a cake business. What in the world is a cottage law and how do you find out if your state has one?

The cottage food law allows people to bake cookie, cakes, etc out of their home kitchens for sale to consumers. You would have to find out through your local dept of agriculter to see if you sate allow it or not. There are many guide lines to follow as well. So best suggestion google it for your state, opps here's the link to get you started
