TexasSugar, your flowers are GORGEOUS! Thanks so much for sharing. I'm going to ICES next week, now I'm hoping they have platinum paste there.

Thanks, Tracy. Love the group that you did with Ruth--beautiful colors!

I use mine in the pasta machine all the time especially for roses. I also steam my flowers as I dust all of them. I find this paste shows more detail than any other I've used and you use way less paste per petal.
Thanks for the new source-I will check it out.

Thank you! icon_smile.gif

FullHouse, I just looked at the vender's list. I'd check this booth out first:

Sugar City / Avenues Sweet Choices www.avenuechoices.com Booth 311

Rea... icon_biggrin.gif I'm excited that they came out that well. Ruth posted pictures on her facebook from everyone's flowers in the class. I love that we all had the same dusts, and there is such a variety of colors that everyone ended up with in the end.

JWinslow, that is the one Ruth orders from. I'm not sure how their price compares to anywhere else, since I didn't do a lot of shopping around.

Thanks for posting this. I was meaning to take a look and see if they will be at the convention. I get to drive this year so I can't wait to buy stuff!

Jenn2179,

Have a great time at convention. I was suppose to go but moving expenses & stuff got in the way. If you happen to meet Pam Dewey (she'll have a display cake and is running a class on cake transportation) tell her Jeanne said hey. She was my Wilton Instructor a few years back.

I'm only two years late on this thread and don't know whether you're all still hanging around.

I'm in Sydney, Australia, and took a class at Iced Affair a while back on fabric effects. We used a small amount of Platinum Paste mixed into modelling paste and were able to roll it out much more thinly and to drape it beautifully. We were told about pure Platinum Paste being used for flower making in the UK but were advised that our humidity would prevent it from hardening. I'd love to hear comments from anyone who may have used it in Australia.

By the way, your flowers are divine - so delicate and realistic!
