Sounds Like A Silly Question....but....

I am very new to decorating and my cousin is getting married in the near future. I am wanting to volunteer to make her wedding cake but I'm a little nervous about it.
But here's my question....on a stacked wedding cake how do you get the layers on top of each other with out totally messing up the icing on the sides? I was reading the other post and the article on dowels and I understand that part....except the part about how to get the middle rod down the middle?
I'm starting to think it's not a very good idea me trying this right now.....I don't even know where to start
Hi blonde_betty_boop! Here on this web site go to the tab marked "articles" Scroll down to Cake Decorating Basics. In that section you will find the topic: Tiered/Stacked Cake Construction. I've put in the link so you can copy it and go there. Good luck, you'll do fine and we want to see the finished product!
