Does any one know the best place to purchase small toys for the tops of cakes? The mother wants a pirate ship with toy pirates on it but wants to make sure they are food safe. I have looked but am having trouble locating any meant for cakes. Thanks

I would think toddler toys would be safe. They know some kid will put it in their mouth at some point. I think all toys are suppose to be safe.

Tell her to search around herself and purchase them. Why should you run around....That is why I don't supply figures. It's like some customers email me and ask if I can use less/organic food dyes in my icings as they don't want their kids to have artifical colors etc.All colored icing has food safe dyes in them. and I am not buying expensive organic colors when I go through so much coloring...If you want them to eat organic then go buy a cake 3 times the price from a specialty shop who makes such cakes...It just makes me mad when people request such things..

No reason for toys to be "food safe", as they're not made to be put on food. The manufacturers would dry up and die if they had to go thru the financial hoops to make them "food safe".

It's just incidental contact for a short period. Any toy she finds that she likes will be just fine, but as said above, make her get them!

I did a cake and the mom wanted about $50 in Disney figures on it. I had her get them AND place them on the cake after delivery.
