Can I use the chocolate moulds to make gumpaste seashells? How do I do that? Is there a better way?
Dina
Yes, you can and they come out awesome. Roll out the gumpaste thin, lightly dust with corn starch, press in the molds. Let them set up in the molds, remove, let dry, dust or paint or both. They look and feel just like real shells. I have those on my wedding cake and the sweet 16 cake. And the Bounty cake. There's also pics of the shells I took while making them.
Good luck.
Sandy, you are not kidding. They do look real. do you mind telling me what colors you used to dust them and what brand?
Thank you. Let's see, I used so many: tan opal, copper, spanish moss, sand, antique white, peach, dove grey, apricot sparkle, and super pearl for the pearls.
