My nephew asked me to make his grooms cake. He wants a Tractor (he farms and just bought a new one), a Pheasant (he hunts) and a teddy bear (thats his nickname). So Ive decided Im make a square cake with rows of corn and model all the stuff and place it on top. Ill do the tractor in RKT and fondant. I planned to just make a teddy bear driving the tractor. I started modeling the teddy bear last night and then had the idea to make him look like a groom. He turned out pretty cute I think.

Heres where I need the advice:

So then I got to thinking, maybe it would be cute to make a bride bear to sit next to him and put a just married sign on the back of the tractor and tin cans attached with strings.

So does that sound like a good idea or should I just stick with a teddy bear driving the tractor since thats what he asked for?

Thank's crisseyann. I thought so too but then I just asked my daughter what she thought and she said I should just stick with the teddy bear since it's supposed to just be about the groom.

Well the groom is getting married. Isn't the bride a big part of that? Maybe I'm missing the point of the groom's cake.

Thanks! icon_smile.gif

I just emailed my sister-in-law (groom's mom) to see what she thinks. I just need one more opinion before I drop it I guess icon_wink.gif And I guess mom's opinion would be a good one.

Oh well guess I'm just sticking to the one bear. Groom's mom says "would hate to have the bride get the nickname "mama bear".

I can see the point I guess. But I do think I'll keep the teddy bear I already made looking like a groom.

Thanks for the feedback! Wedding's not until July 9th but I'll post pics when it's done.
