My cousins birthday is coming up. We were very close as children and I we have fond memories of our childhood days spent together. Eating her favorite pb& j sandwiches. I thought this would be a fun thing to make since I am in charge of bringing the cake. Please let me know any ideas or websites that may help me. I am a little stumped. Thank you for your help. icon_biggrin.gif

Hi Icingonthecupcake,
there was a show that aired here in Canada on the food network a couple weeks ago. I think it was called the great cake off or something like that..............anyways a lady made a peanut butter and jam cake and if I'm not mistaken all she did was make a jam filled cake and iced it in a peanut butter cream.

Take care
Daniela

I would probably just make a white cake, torted and filled with strawberry (or other) jam or jelly, and iced with peanut butter icing. I'm not very original though, I'm sure there are a lot better ideas out there!

Hi there....why don't you make a regular flavor cake (chocolate, vanilla?) and just make it look like a PB & J sandwich using different colored icings in between the "bread". There are a few hamburger cakes in the gallery under "food" that can inspire you. You maybe can also make 2 small jar-shaped cakes and label one of them "Peanut butter" and the other one "jelly". Maybe a fondant knife or something?
Have fun!

My thoughts exactly Adven68. I am sure it would come out great whatever way you choose to do it!

Maybe my post was a little unclear. But I would like a cake that looks like a pb&j sandwich it doesn't have to necessarily taste like a pb&j sandwich. Thanks again for your help. icon_lol.gif
