Yes, the image is put onto the fondant disk. It is rather easy, I have done it several times. You just cut your image and fondant circles to size, then while the fondant is still soft place the image on it, pressing lightly. If you let the fondant sit too long the images will not stick without something to help it. In that case, I lightly moisten the fondant with vodka and apply the image. I prefer to do it without the vodka, the image looks crisper. Just work in small batches so you can get to it before it dries out. You can apply them whenever you want. They don't exactly melt into the fondant like they do on buttercream, so you don't have to worry about it getting mushy. You will need to make them atleast a day ahead of time so the fondant has time to harden before being placed on the cupcake. Also, I add tylose to my fondant to aid in the hardening. HTH

One more question icon_smile.gif
Cupcakes are made - and fondant discs are drying with images on them.. pretty dry now.
But I strore my cupcakes in the fridge.. and can I store the toppers in the fridge too, or
should I wait until the day of?

Either way will be fine. Just make sure when you take them out of the fridge yoy let them come to room temp without a lid on it. This is so the condensation can evaporate off. I usually wait until just before delivery, but it depends on what kind of frosting you use. If you are using a crusting type frosting it will crack and get messed up when you push it down with the disk. If you are using something more pliable it might be ok.
