i've enver even heard of it but a customer wants one this friday. i saw one on allrecipes involving a box yellow cake mix. if anyone can help me with which recipe to use that would be great!
oh wait she said Disaronno white chocolate. ??? i may have to tell her i don't know how to make that
Disaranno is a brand of amaretto. You will bunch bunch of recipes if you do a google search for: amaretto white chocolate cake.
Sorry I don't have a specific recipe for you, I don't drink alcohol, so would Not have a reason to make that type of thing. Maybe you can find one that has a lot of good reviews. Also, if you do decide to take the order, make sure to use Disaranno; some people can tell the difference. You have to make sure to price your cake high enough, as Disaranno is expensive.
You could add it to the batter of any yellow cake or lightly brush it on each layer. You can also add it to the frosting. If it will make the frosting runny, reduce it.
she wants strawberry filling. i have some made already that's really good, but can i add a few tablespoons of the liquor to it anyways? or should i just leave it?
I think it would compliment the strawberries. If you want to try it, take about a tablespoon of the filling and add a drop of the amaretto. Mix it and see how it tastes. The flavor of amaretto is almond, so it should be great.
I bake with alcohol in about 50% of my offerings because of its abilities to act like an extract. Make your cake with a little amaretto added to the batter. Keep the vanilla. Make two shallow cupcakes. You will never miss the batter in the cakes. I usually taste the batter and add until the flavor is clearly detected. Some of this will evaporate, so don't make it too light. Use these cupcakes to experiment with how much alcohol to brush on the final product.
This cake will be great. Don't worry about it.

Exactly! I replace up to 1/2 cup of liquid with liqueur. then I make a simple syrup with sugar, water + the liqueur for drizzling on the cake to make the flavor more pronounced. Amaretto is a crowd pleaser.
