cownsj, I'm not sure if you are still sending my instructions or your own set, but if they are still mine, I just wanted to let you know I updated my website. So if it's a link, you'll need to get a new one.

After publishing the cake in August and me sending instructions to a bazillion people who requested it on CC... and then the video in september and instructions in the ICES newsletter, it still amazes me that this is new to some people. Just makes you realize how big the world really is..

Oh, and I'm thrilled I also get to teach this at Cake Camp in July, I hope some of you are in the class, got some new things to show with gelatin... icon_biggrin.gif

Still sending the ones I've used. I know I'm looking for new ways to use gelatin. Care to give us any hints of what new things you're doing with it? And where are your classes? I can only imagine how much fun you'll be having teaching the class. Making these are so much fun when you are doing it by yourself, but to be doing it with lots of others has to be so much better.

I have also been trying to upload a template I made last year. It's not a new technique, but since I'm making the popcorn cupcakes again, I thought I'd post the wrappers I'd made so others could use them too. I got 4 on a page and print them on cardstock. Made them as one of the items I made for our Township event last year and everyone kept asking why we had popcorn with the cakes. That's when you know you did a pretty good job.... lol

I'm not sure if it's the format it's saved in, or if it's cc, or why I can't get it online, but I'll keep trying.

One of the ways is on my beer mug cake, as a 'glass'. Not a new technique, but fun effect to do. I also use gelatin to make 'jewels', glasses, slippers etc... The class is tons of fun ( at the California Cake Camp in Las Vegas). Everyone makes a different bubble and you know how addicting they are to do.

cownsj,
I'm late to the party when it comes to this thread, but if you are still offering bubble instructions I would love a copy. TIA.
Don't have any new techniques to add, but that rose cake will be perfect for a last-minute wedding cake I'm making for friends as a gift. Thanks!

Thank you chrisviz, that's very kind of you to say. I've been helped by so many wonderful people on here, and as I just told someone in a pm, I get excited just seeing how many others are getting so excited about a new project. It just makes it so much fun.

Hopefully I got the instructions out to everyone. If I missed anyone, please let me know.

Since I mentioned I'm trying to download the wrapper for the popcorn cupcakes, if anyone wants me to email the sheet for that, I'll be happy to do so also. Here is a photo of them in use: http://s314.photobucket.com/albums/ll426/ShelbyLynnCakes/?action=view¤t=MontagueDay3.jpg#!oZZ59QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fs314.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fll426%2FShelbyLynnCakes%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3DMontagueDay1.jpg Ok, the photo is kinda small to see, but you get the idea.

I do have another new favorite..... I LOVE making calla lilies. I got the kit and let it sit for weeks because I was afraid it would take alot for me to get them down correctly. Now...... holy cow, they take no time at all and come out perfectly. I love making them.

I was trying to be helpful and direct people to your site so cownsj doesn't have to keep PM-ing everyone but most are still asking her. Oh well, I tried icon_smile.gif Thanks for your tutorials, they are wonderful!!!!

I love the rose cake but I call it the "rose carpet" because it is more than a single rose and it's very descriptive. I've used it on the giant cupcake and a round. Love it!

cherrycakes - if you like modeling chocolate roses, you should try making them out of tootsie rolls, chocolate and colors! alot easier to work with, just cut them and microwave for 6-8 seconds to soften then shape from there. I don't know how to post my photos but you can look up my name/cakes to see a whole cake full.

I just looked at your roses cake on the giant cupcake. You took a great idea and took it one step further. I'd never have thought to do that. Great idea, and great job.
