I tried it, but I remain un decided. If you add too much you get a lemoy flavor. I think it smells nice, but I just can't put my finger on the taste....I think I need to find just the right amount to add.

I love it! They say to start off with less and gradually add more. Evidently more is not better in this case.
My DH & I figured out what it smells and tastes like (at least to us)....LEMON ICE BOX PIE!!!! I swear that's exactly what it is! If any of you have had lemon ice box pie and think the same, please let me know so DH & I will know we're not crazy!!
We both like the flavor on its own, but when a little vanilla is added it gives it more depth, I think. It's what makes everyone say..."this icing is great! what's that I taste?"
I tried the butavan, but find it to be a little too rich for icing. I do use it occasionally in batter, though. The creme bouquet has a wonderfully light flavor that most people seem to like, but can't pinpoint what it is.
Just my experience.....
Thank you, I am going to try it this weekend for a cake that I am taking to a class on smoothing icing...so my family will be eating it. My best taste testers...lol

To one batch of bc, I use 1 tablespoon creme bouquet to 1 tsp vanilla....then I taste it....it I taste more of the creme bouquet, then I add another 1/2 tsp vanilla. I found that 1 tsp of creme bouquet wasn't nearly enough to really get the flavor. I've found the way I do it you can taste the creme bouquet, but it's not overpowering because of the vanilla. I've also found that everyone's tastes are different, so you just have to play around with it. Good luck!
