Hi there!
My Mom is thinking about taking up cake decorating and sent me the link to cakesmadeeasy.com to check out. She is thinking about buying the eBooks. Has anyone here purchased these? What was your opinion? Was it worth the money? How did it compare to taking the Wilton classes in your opinion? Please let me know your thoughts, good or bad. Thanks!

I get their e-mails and will like to know also if they are any good. I have never bought e-books so I am not sure how easy to use they are.

I do not have them, but my Wilton instructor is the instructor on the videos. She was terrific in class, and I'm sure she did a great job on the video as well.

I bought the "Cake Decorating Made Easy" online books when I was thinking about doing some "serious" cake decorating. I don't regret the purchase at all. What I really like about these books is that they include "video presentations" of techniques. I learned quite a bit from them and refer to them often. I also use their rolled buttercream and buttercream recipes and think they're great.

They have two "courses"--basic decorating techniques and the more advanced techniques using fondant, gumpaste, etc.

I think I paid about $58.00 for the two courses.

I bought the ebooks when I was first starting. I really like them. I think they were well worth the money.

I agree that the videos were a big help.

But at what level are they targeted too? I mean, I took Wilton Course 1 and did some reading to do stacked cakes and have practiced a little bit. I'm CLUELESS how to make all those flowers that are taught in course 2 and I don't know a thing about fondant... but I'm not crazy about fondant, so would never specialize in it....

What I get something from it?

I've learned everything that I know from books, the Wilton website and here on CakeCentral! I don't see how it would hurt to get the videos!! I love the little tutorials and videos on the Wilton website that teach the different tips and strokes....it really helped me!

Hi Everyone: I have the e-books on cake decorating actually I got one of the books free because I had the mini course when they first came out and as a bonus was able to get one of the e-books for nothing. I am however, going to purchase the other one. I also just before Christmas got there cookie e-books. I LOVE them. Vicki0052.

Also, just another note: Trish (my instructor and the instructor on the videos) just completed a Cookie decorating video as well. And I believe she has a few other ones in the works too.

Im a little late chiming in, but I bought them when they first came out and have enjoyed them. I had already taken Wilton's 3 classes as well as 2 extra Wilton classes - Elegant Fondant and Gumpaste Flowers. It covers some areas that my Wilton instructor was a little slack on and gives me visual reviews of anything I need to refresh my memory on. I'm a visual learner, so the videos are well worth the price to me. There are great recipes included, too. Thumbs up from me - thumbs_up.gif
