I need a recipe for a fluffy and smooth can like icing to match an amazing scratch chocolate cake recipe. It is so light and box like it would blow your socks off!!!! Not good for carving or stacking, but it is perfect for a regular three layered chocolate cake.

This cake is for me to take over to my in-laws home for some relatives that are visiting from California. So, I really want to impress them.

Thanks in advance,

cakeymom

Well...if you want icing like from a can then buy the can...but if you want an amazing scratch icing that is smooth, light and delicious that won't make them think you bought a can of frosting, then go with a Swiss Meringue Buttercream. There are many recipes on this site, on the web and in most good cake cookbooks. There are even tutorials on YouTube. You will surely impress them with the smooth taste, not too sweet and such a velvety texture.
Good luck!
