Can someone tell me how these cupcake toppers are made? Are there cutters to use? If so, where do you purchase your's from? I've seen a lot on Etsy and would really like to make my own but unsure where to get the cutters/embossers.

Thanks

I think those toppers are there because Etsy is selling the cutters. It's nice because they have a good collection from several different manufacturers.

How would I find the cutters on Etsy?

Oh, well, smack me for not reading carefully. I saw prices and just assumed. The seller is Christi's Cakes and, of course, she's selling the toppers, not the cutters. That'll teach me to put my mouth in motion before putting my mind in gear! If you look around the internet at baking supply sites, you might be able to assemble a set of cutters for whatever you want. I have a pretty good collection because the woman I've taken most of my caking classes from has had several of them made up over the years, which she then sells to her students, but I'm not sure how easily this could be done in other places. My mother used to make her own cookie cutters out of the rims of coffee cans (the ones that opend with keys), but they don't make those anymore, either. Do you think there's a conspiracy out there? Sorry again for steering you wrong.

It looks to me like some of them are cutters and some are probably handcut. Or she possibly combined two cookie cutters. If you want to know what I mean by that you can go to http://www.sweetsugarbelle.blogspot.com/

She will use two cookie cutters to make one cookie. Only in your case, you would just use the two to make the fondant/gumpaste toppers.

I think you could easily use patchwork cutters too. They have mini ones that would help you out.
